Born into a winemaking family in the Bordeaux region, Thierry Germain took over Domaine des Roches Seches in 1993, known at the time to be one of the best wineries in the region. The 22-hectare domaine is managed using biodynamic viticulture and Germain strives to obtain the perfect match between the terroir of the Saumur Champigny appellation and Cabernet Franc, its sole variety. Thierry Germain insists upon the importance of small yields, harvesting at full maturity, as well as storage and ageing in new barrels.
