The Vicomtesse Walsh, the Marquis de Las Cases and his descendants; Marque de Las Cases and her husband Bernard du Closel, Michele de Féligonde with her husband Jacques Bazin de Jessey and their daughter Evelyne de Pontbriand, have all brought an international reputation to the property and its gardens as well as its vineyards.
Michèle and Evelyne were both successively elected presidents of the AOC Savennières. Domaine du Closel has been a leader in the development of local wine tourism, with over 12,000 visitors every year. Le Chateau des Vaults is home to many concerts, book evenings, art shows, as well as numerous other events.
