Domaine Richou has been a family run estate for 3 consecutive generations in the appellation “Coteaux de l’Aubance”. Vines are planted on soils that are locally known as “Anjou Noire”, or black Anjou, due to the high concentration of schist. This terroir, as well as the influence of the Atlantic coast, has led the grapevine to flourish here for many centuries.
The wines of Domaine Richou owe their fresh, spicy and mineral characteristics to the shale and volcanic-like soils on which they are grown as well as the microclimatic influence of the Loire River.
