The Vallée family has been settled on one of the best sites in the Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation for several centuries. In fact, currently, four generations of the family live in the local village. Gerald took over the family domaine in 1997, which spreads across 26 hectares and includes a vast and diverse range of terroirs, from stony terraces to siliceous, limestone rich hillsides as well as the rolling gravelly slopes, typical of the Loire Valley. In 2004, harvesting was done completely by hand across the entire estate for the first time.
The thermo-regulated tanks allow for a seamless fermentation and storage of the wine. Certain small batches are fermented in wooden vats with constant cap management – pigeage or foot treading during the ferment.
